Dear Veronica,
     I pray this letter finds you well and recovering from your recent illness.  You are remembered in my petitions and Rosaries for healing.
     I am writing this letter as a testimony of the miraculous healing that Jesus and Our Lady of the Roses have performed for my 80 year old aunt.  I can't help but feel that this is just the beginning, for the work that the Lord begins, never goes unfinished.
     About four years ago I heard about the apparitions at Bayside, and although I am a Roman Catholic, I did not at that time, entirely believe in them or receive information about them with any great enthusiasm.  I even kidded about them to a friend.  I neglected to mention that prior to this I had not always been going to Mass and the sacraments as I should have been doing.
     Then one day as I was praying I turned my life over to God and asked that He let me know and do His will.  He did not disappoint me, since after that He gave me the grace to pray with increased devotion and attend Mass and the sacraments regularly.
     Some time later, (about a year or so) when I had forgotten my friend had told me about the apparitions at Bayside, I received a pamphlet in the mail advertising mystic and religious happenings.  One thing led to another and before long I wrote Our Lady's Worker for further information and video cassettes.  After I received the vigil calendar I went to the Vatican Pavilion site and prayed the Rosary.  This was just the beginning of one of the many times that I was to return to pray.  In many of my visits I have also been fortunate to receive religious miraculous photographs and upon one occasion carried the statue of the Blessed Mother in procession. 
     At one of the Vigils I remember leaving a list of long petitions for healing and special help for the aging and ailing members of my family, and for myself.  Some time after this I convinced my 80 year old aunt, (who is in charge of a younger mentally retarded sister as well as her mentally retarded sister) and my mother to come to one of the vigils.  This elderly aunt had been given a Rosary that was originally silver in color) by a friend who had returned from Italy.  After another visit to Bayside this aunt, who has glaucoma, was discovered to have breast cancer which had spread to her liver and her bones.  The doctor (an oncologist) had given her from 8 months to a year to live.  After a year of bringing her for chemotherapy (in the course of that year, I noticed that her Rosary had turned to gold).  I reminded her that this was Jesus and Our Blessed Mother's way of letting her know that she would be healed.  This past August she underwent a third battery of tests in order to see how far the cancer had progressed and it was gone--from her liver, her bones and her breast.  I praise God and honor Our Blessed Mother everyday for this great miracle by saying the Rosary daily.  I continue to tell friends and members of my family about all that has happened and feel confident that this is just the beginning of the wonderful things that God has in store for those who believe in Him and do His Will.

     Last Fall, I wrote to you regarding my 33 year old brother (N. G. Manitoba, Canada), who had a cancerous brain tumour.  He underwent surgery in October, was given cancer treatments in November & December, and sent home with the news that no one could help him any more.  The tumour was still growing deeper in his brain.  At the time that he was told nothing could be done, the Doctor asked that he come in a month's time for one last C.T. Scan and to renew his prescriptions.  On February 22, he went for his C.T. Scan, and lo and behold, the tumour and cancer had disappeared!  The Doctors couldn't explain to him what had happened.  It is so obvious that God had heard our prayers.  I would like to thank you for your help and prayers and let you know about the wonderful news. . . .

Dear Veronica,
     Please tell Jesus and Mary that I thank them with all my heart for curing me of cancer. I believed with all my heart and wanted that cure so badly.
     I would like the following to be a testimonial of what happened to me. About five years ago, I was told by my doctor that I had cancer of the right breast, and so I had it removed. Later, he told me that I still had it. So I went through chemotherapy, because that was all they could do for me.
     Earlier this year, I saw an article in the Buffalo Evening News about Our Lady of the Roses Shrine, Mary Help of Mothers, Veronica Lueken, and the Bayside pilgrimages. There was also a Buffalo-based phone number I could call if I was interested.
     I was interested indeed, with all these years of suffering. I wanted so much to be cured that I called and asked questions. But with my illness and pain I couldn't go on the pilgrimages. So I wrote a letter and they placed it as a petition at the shrine on my behalf. Sometime in April, I received a newsletter and two rose petals. I had my friend, Bev, pin a rose petal on the inside, on the right side of my blouse. On August 8th, I received a letter saying that my petition to be cured had been placed at the vigil.
     I went to my regular doctor to find out the results of my semi-annual cancer check-up. He told me that it was a miracle! I was cured! My doctor said that he will testify for me. He also said that I have one more year of check-ups, and that I should keep saying my prayers and not backslide. 
     I won't. I'll keep going to confession, Sunday Mass, and continue saying my rosary.

Dear Brothers in Jesus Christ, 
            I wish to hereby express my deepest appreciation to Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers for Her intercession before God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost for having cured me of cancer.
            Seven years ago, during Easter Week of 1989, an ovarian cancer that I had burst.  I had had it for a few months but within the span of one and a half months it grew to the size of a pregnancy.  I ignored it because I had already had an enormous ovarian cyst removed.
            Because I felt so bad when it burst, I visited my fellow doctor colleagues in the Emergency of the Military Hospital (Reg. 108788) where I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  They found that the cancerous seromucous liquid had invaded my right lung (Meiggs’ Syndrome), and that I could only breath with one lung, and was barely able to speak.
            I was operated upon at the Regional Hospital of Cobán, Alta Verapaz on March 29, 1989, and my cancerous ovary was removed.  It measured 16x13x8 cm, when the normal size of an ovary is that of a nut.  The dark bloody liquid, as well as the ovary, were analyzed in the Path Lab and the diagnosis was that of PAPILLARY OVARIAN CISTOADENOCARCINOMA, with ramifications throughout my body (metastasis).
            This diagnosis was confirmed by the Cancer Institute (Reg. 126870).  Upon learning of the diagnosis, I immediately prayed to OUR LADY OF THE ROSES begging Her to cure me.  I did not tell Her how; I did not know how, I only knew that my life had ended.
            I suffered the treatments of cancer, since it had already metastasized.  Chemotherapy is very expensive and extremely painful.  It should go on for life, or at least for 5 years, and even while in treatment, one can die from the disease.  I only received 2 full treatments, a half of another, and a fourth of another, because of it’s high cost.  I knew the pains of cancer:  I could not sleep from the pain; I could not eat because of the pain, I could not even think because the pain grasped my very thoughts.
            Little by little I started to improve.  God has granted me more life through OUR LADY OF THE ROSES!  I give this testimony which I offered Her.  I am very grateful to Her and to the Blessed Trinity for giving me the time to amend my life.

 This letter is to acknowledge the miraculous cure experience by my sister Norma. Back in January 14, 2001, I sent a letter for her and sent her a rose petal and a rosary. After surgery, the Doctor said he had tried to get all the cancer, but that she would need chemotherapy and radiation treatments. We prayed and never gave up on her and asked friends and relatives to pray for her. Two weeks ago she got her results from a biopsy taken a week before. Not a trace of cancer was to be found. Please use this note to show other people the true miraculous power of Our Lady and Jesus.  On July 27, I was seeing my doctor regarding a female problem I had. My previous test results came back positive for cancer.  As I sat in my doctors office I was terrified! to say the least.  All I could hear were her words, “it’s cancer.”  I would now face a complete hysterectomy.  I went home and took a Blessed Rose Petal and prayed every chance I got.  I slept with it, went to work with it, and carried it with me at all times.  I begged Our Blessed Mother and Jesus to grant me a cure.      Just wanted to let you know of a miracle we received from Our Lady of the Roses.
     My son, James, now 30 was addicted to cocaine.  He has a wife and two children.  He was in rehab twice.  The second time he said he was praying and he felt a power and peace come over him.  After that the cure wasn't quite complete so I gave him a rose petal and a St. Benedict medal.  It's been a bit over one year now and he is just fine.  The family has started going back to church and his daughter will receive first Holy Communion in the spring.
     We are, to say the least, joyous and we thank God & Our Lady and all the saints for this miracle.

     I was blind one night, so they took me to the hospital. They called my doctor, and he examined me, and I said, "I can’t see, doctor." Three months ago, I came to the Shrine, and I had problems with my vision--three months ago--so they took me to the hospital. They kept me there for twenty days, and I couldn’t see. You know what I saw--everything was double or I didn’t see anything. So, they examined me The doctor said to me--I do have problems. I said, "What kind of problems?" The doctor said, "Well, it will maybe take about a year, before you will be able to see. You’re not going to see." So, he gave me a year to see, he said--maybe.
     So, I came to Bayside--I was blind when I came. That same night I came here, I got my vision back. I had to use a cane, because I couldn’t see. I had to walk like that, because I couldn’t see, so I came here. I talked to my son, I said, "I can see a little better." So, that same night, the Virgin Mary gave me my vision back. I see now clear--I see very well, and I am fine--thank God. I thank the Blessed Mother and I thank God for that.

     I am writing to you in regards to a cure which I obtained by going to one of the Bayside vigils. I have had a fractured disc in my spine which was near the pelvis and for a period of about 25 years I was troubled by severe back pain and I would be laid up from work for two or three weeks at a stretch. I would have to wear a brace and sometimes they even put a cast on it to keep it in place. The doctor did not want to operate on it because it was too close to the pelvis and he said that he could only give me a 20% chance of the operation being successful, so I didn't want to take the chance of an unsuccessful operation. However, that is not the reason for my trip to Bayside.
     My sister and I decided to go to Bayside to see what it was all about. That was in the year 1974 on one of the spring vigils. I had come across some of Veronica's messages from Our Lady and I wanted to go and see for myself what was really taking place. My sister was rather skeptical, but she decided to come along with me to Bayside.
     At the vigil I was trying to remember myself and my family to the Blessed Virgin so that we would have an increase in Faith and so that she would protect us and guide us safely to heaven. We went home by plane on the following afternoon and frankly I wasn't even aware of my cure. I didn't have the slightest idea what had happened, because the extra faith I prayed for didn't seem to materialize as I though it should have.
     I seems unbelievable, but it was only about a year and a half after that I discovered I had been cured.
     I was at my sister's place again and we were talking about our trip to Bayside when her son piped up and said, "Hey Unc, you haven't had a backache for a long time," and I realized at that very moment that I did get that cure at Bayside because I didn't have any more trouble with my back.
     Now it is almost five years since I have been there and I have not had a bit of problem with my back again, thanks to Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother at the Bayside vigils.
     It is at this particular time that I would like to publicly thank Jesus and Mary for the cure I have obtained from them at Bayside. It has certainly been a blessing to me.
     I hope that you can use this to help the cause of Bayside because I felt for sure, those messages are very important for our times.

To Our Lady of the Roses:

     I was doing some work for Our Lady. I guess it was my time to suffer, as it is for all of us during our lives. Well, I was hit head-on by a truck. I was on a motorcycle, going at a fairly good clip, and I arrived in the hospital with only my scapular and my rosary.
     My leg was completely smashed. I had pieces of bone hanging out of my leg, and there was some on the road. Well, the doctors told me, at that particular time, that I might have 20 % use of my leg, if I had a leg at all.
     Well, they put the thing in traction, into what they call a Hopkins tri-point. Well, then I was transferred to another hospital, and then another one. Then, I got gangrene, and they said my leg was going to have to be removed. So, during the surgery, I don’t know what happened, but apparently something happened. My leg was still on when I woke up.
     Then, I was transferred to UCLA, because I had a severe bone infection. Then they said, "Well, I’m sorry, Guy, but this time the leg’s going to have to come off. We have no choice." Two weeks prior to that, they gave me what they call a Thompson scan, and this X-ray showed the inside of the bone. Well, the inside of my bone was as black as coal, which means that it was dying, so they were going to have to remove it. And, my other bone in my leg, the smaller one had not healed, which was also bad, because my break was in several parts of my leg.
     Two weeks later, when I came back, they took another X-ray. All heck broke loose. Doctors were arguing amongst themselves--well, they got the wrong leg--this and that. Finally, a doctor came in and told me, "Well, I don’t know too much about miracles, but this is a miracle. But," he says, "this is sure one. And, this time," he said, "I don’t know how to explain this."
     So, they had me back in UCLA Medical Center several times thereafter. My leg had been completely healed by Our Lord Jesus Christ through His Holy Mother--Our Mother, Our Queen. I give Her credit asking our God to heal my leg, because I myself could not do that, because I have not been too good in my life. But Our Holy Mother, through Her great love that She has for all of us--whether we be black, white, whatever--and we’re Her children. So it fits to ask Our Lord that my leg be all healed, in one piece. So, I got it--it is all healed. I also have my life, because they said I should have never survived that accident.

     I have two miracles that I’d like to give testimony to. The first one was in 1983. I had a cervical spine problem, and I had gone to this chiropractor two or three times a week, and I had to wear a cervical collar. It was a large lump on the top of my spine. It was all swollen, as big as an egg, and the doctor couldn’t seem to get that swelling down.
     So I came to the Shrine one night, and Veronica was there with the crucifix that Our Lady told her never to be without. She blessed my cervical collar, and she blessed me on the forehead three times.
     Then the following week, when I was home, a piece of paper fell on the floor. When I went there, I bent down to pick it up, and I heard this terrific crack in my neck. You could hear it right across the room. That bone went right back to normal. It’s been that way ever since. There is no more pain.
     I told the doctor that the swelling had gone down. He said, "Great." And after the swelling went down, I had no pain anymore. The swelling has gone down, and it’s been down ever since. So I told the doctor about it, and he said, "That is wonderful." So that was the end of that.
     Now, six months later, I woke up, and I stood in my hallway. My eyes were all cloudy, and I couldn’t see anything. Everything was all blurry, and I thought, well, maybe it’s because I’m not awake yet. But the next day, and the next, it was the same thing. So, I said I better go to see an eye doctor.
     So I went to him - the eye doctor. He examined me, and he said that I had cataracts on both eyes. Then he said I might have to be operated on for a transplant. He proceeded to tell me the whole procedure, and how it would be and everything, but he said, "We’ll give you six months, and you come back." So when he told me that, I went home, I put the rose petal on each eye, and I said the rosary to Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers to cure the cataracts. Maybe it will go away and everything.
     A few months later, I noticed, little by little, the blurring went away. When the six months were up, I went to the doctor. So I went to see him, and I told him - I said, "The cloudiness is all gone." So he said, "Well, let me examine you." So he examined me, and after he gave me a thorough examination, he said, "I’ve got good news for you. You’re just fine. Say some prayers for me."
     That’s the end of that, and I am thankful to Our Blessed Mother for using the rose petal to cure me. That’s why I want to give this testimonial, because some people don’t believe in the rose petals. They think it’s just a rose, and they laugh at you. But they don’t realize that Our Lord has blessed that rose petal, and it takes on a different dimension. When Our Lady said that it’s for cures and conversions, She’s not "whistling Dixie," she means business. I’m proof of that, and I’m just so thankful that She cured me, and I hope the people will be encouraged and start to use the rose petals more and more. I can’t thank Her enough.

     On June 7, 1979, my sister Joan MacIntyre was rushed to the hospital with cirrhosis of the liver. The attending physician said there was no hope. Three nights later, the doctor said she would not live through the night. I put the rose petal from Bayside on her and prayed to Our Lady of the Roses. The next day my sister came out of the coma and responded to the medicine. She went back to Church after twenty-five years and received the Sacraments. The doctor was amazed and had no explanation for her recovery. Enclosed is a statement from the family physician stating her recovery was nothing short of a miracle. Dear Mrs. Veronica Lueken,
     Back on January 11th, 1987, I fell into a diabetic coma of 1,200 count. So I was diagnosed as a diabetic person for the first time in my life. I turned 49 years old back on February 1st. Anyway, I was told by the doctors at the hospital that I would have to take insulin of both kinds, regular and NPH, twice a day for the rest of my life.
     Morning and afternoon, before breakfast and dinner I did this every day till June 18th of 1987. That year I was at the Vigil grounds for the 17th Anniversary Vigil of Our Lady of the Roses. Something happened to me on the grounds that day that changed my life all over again. Since then I haven't taken a single shot of insulin and done everything a diabetic person shouldn't do. I eat ice cream, pie, cake, sugar, etc.
     I thank Our Lord Jesus, and Our Lady of the Roses for this miracle on this poor sinner and Bayside follower. With all my heart, thank you Lord Jesus and Mary.

Dear Veronica,

     Last September I went to a doctor and he informed me I had a bad case of diabetes. He told me I would have to taken insulin injections for the rest of my life. I refused, but agreed to take pills.
     I sent my petition to you to be placed at Our Lady of the Roses Shrine. Since that time I have had three checkups, and each one showed that my blood sugar was normal. I had asked in my petition for a cure.
     I do believe Our Lady has cured my diabetes, as I am eating regular meals and have never felt better. I want to thank Our Lady of the Roses publicly.
     Now I am sending a petition on behalf of my sister in England who has phlebitis and arthritis. God bless you, Veronica, and your work for Mary.

Dear Veronica,
     A few months back, I sent my petition to be put on the altar of Our Lady of the Roses Shrine, and I requested some rose petals, medals and rosaries.
     On the 26th of September, I received a thick packet containing plenty of literature about the happenings at the Shrine, and a shower of rose petals blessed by Jesus, and rosaries and medals as well, with a letter from "Our Lady's worker." I thank you with all my heart for the wonderful gift so generously sent.
     Ever since I received this packet, I have been distributing the papers and sacramentals to all those who come to see me, as I am an invalid myself, confined to my room. I wish to write of one striking incident of conversion.
     A father of six children, who is a teacher, had taken to bad drinking habits during the past five or six years. As soon as he got his pay every month, he would spend it in drinking, and paying the debts of the previous months. He had no sense of responsibility whatsoever. I gave a rose petal and Our Lady's medal to his daughter. She gave them to him, and from that time onwards there was a definite change in him. He has given up his drinking habit completely, and is now a very responsible head of the family. His wife and children are very grateful to Jesus and Our Blessed Mother. They can hardly believe this wonderful change in him.

CURE FROM DRUGS
December 16, 1981

     Please find enclosed a letter that I would like you to put at Our Lady's statue.
     To make a long story short, I went with friends in my car to the Vigil site on June 13th, 1981. I wanted to change my lifestyle but couldn't do it. I was a drugged and gay disco kid. We stayed all night, praying and taking photos. Nothing happened. So I left the grounds discouraged, depressed, and thought I was too much of a sinner to be saved!
     One month later (July 15, 1981) I quit my job. In September I moved in the country 20 miles from the city. In October I stopped taking drugs, and I rarely go to a disco. When I do, it's only for about an hour. I can't stand it any more. And, also, I've taken a vow of celibacy. My friends find it strange how I've changed. Actually so do I. I know I couldn't have done it by myself. The Lord does work in mysterious ways. Blessed be the Lord and Our Lady!

HARD DRUG ABUSE

I too was cured and converted when I found my first Rose Petal in March, 1994 on Market St. in San Francisco, CA. I was cured of a major affliction, hard-drug use and abuse.  I believe Our Lady gave me the strength and grace to stop completely from this suffering.  I was away from the Roman Catholic Church for 26 years when I was converted back because of Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers.  I also completely stopped my homosexual lifestyle and behavior, and followed the counsel and directions of Our Lady's Shrine.  I was brought back to family too.
     I am living the best of my life now.  My faith in the Church and Jesus and Mary through the Shrine.

CURED OF DRUG ADDICTION AND BACK TO THE SACRAMENTS

Thanks to Our Lord and Our Lady I have gone back to church and to the Sacraments and am cured of drug addiction! After not going to church or confession for may years my husband went back to church and the Sacraments also, he was also cured of drug addiction! My husband died 2 months ago and received Last Rites before he died praise GOD and Our Lady I know they were waiting for him! I have been very depressed lately and was not feeling well but I know there are more miracles waiting for me! GOD BLESS ALL THE WORKERS OF "OUR LORD AND LADY OF THE ROSES!"

Dear Veronica,
     After reading of your Bayside vigils, I asked to be put on your mailing list. After reading about the miraculous rose petal and medal, I sent away for it.
     My little boy Mark, who is 11 years old, had almost no skin on his five toes. He has eczema very bad, and all the medication used did not help him at all. He would sleep with his socks on at night because he was ashamed of his feet.
     After receiving the miraculous rose petal and rubbing it on his feet, there was a difference in one day. After three days his feet looked so beautiful. They were no longer raw-looking. He had new skin on his feet.
     I thank you and the Holy Mother for that. I truly had so much faith in the miraculous rose petal. Thank you again, and thank you for putting me on your mailing list.
     May the Holy Mother always be with you.

Dear Veronica and workers,
     About a year or so ago I saw a billboard for the Bayside Shrine. I called the phone number and got on your mailing list. With your newsletters was enclosed the rose petal. After reading through your written material I decided to make a request to "Our Lady of the Roses" while holding the rose petal in my hand and praying!
     I am so very happy to tell you that my extreme case of eczema that I had for fourteen years was cured. After 14 years of going to skin doctors, regular doctors, buying every cream on the market and trying every remedy that I read about or was told from family and friends I finally was cured after I received that wonderful rose petal and prayed to "Our Lady of the Roses"! I definitely attribute my cure to the rose petal along with my prayers, no doubt about it! I am so very, very thankful.
     Now I feel the need to spread the word of "Our Lady of the Roses" to family and friends, so I have requested extra rose petals and copied the background story at the library to give along with the rose petals. To date I have given out more than 30 petals and stories so others can also share this great wealth of "Love" from "Our Lady of the Roses"! My rose petal is at my bedside and I hold it when I say my prayers and just touch it numerous times of the day when I walk in and out of my bedroom! I also have a rose petal and background story in my wallet so if I meet someone I would like to share it with, I have it handy to give to them!
     Thanks so much to all of your workers and Veronica for that day I saw that message on the billboard! Keep up the good work for through you all I have ended 14 years of searching! Thanks so much!
